Every sewing room needs a goose!

Porch geese are having another moment! Those yard geese that people started dressing up in the 80’s and 90’s are back and I finally decided to get one of my own.

Her name is Lindsay because she arrived at my door on my son’s birthday and he would have been Lindsay if he was a girl. (That’s right – I had no idea what I was having until he arrived – talk about old fashioned!)

Of course the first thing I needed to make her was an outfit for the sewing room so she could be my new sidekick. At first I bought a tomato pincushion thinking I would somehow attach it to a hat but that didn’t work.

So I thought, “Well why don’t I just make a hat the exact size I want that looks like a tomato pincushion?” I couldn’t be more delighted with the results!

The hat was such a hit she went viral on Instagram with over 26,000 views and almost 900 shares so I decided I needed to share how to make this hat so you can have one too!
