FREE Christmas Table Runner Pattern – Santa’s Belt

Santa Belt Table Runner - pattern by Tara Reed

Looking for a quick and fun Christmas decoration that makes a big impact on your table or in your home?

The Santa’s Belt Table Runner is quick and easy to make and the pattern is FREE!

You begin by creating 3 simple horizontal bands. Then sew the pieces together, add a back, quilt and bind it and you’re all set!

I decided to create mine with quilting cotton instead of using more texture and adding fur or metallics because I plan on using it on the table on Christmas Eve and don’t want my plates and platters tipping over.  If you want to use yours as more of a decoration, like I’ve shown to the left on a sofa table, getting more creative with your fabrics and textures can be a lot of fun!

Block 1: block 1 is a horizontal piece of RED fabric – 6 1/2” w x 54 1/2” long.

Block 2: block is the belt block and put together in 3 steps:

Step 1: Assemble the belt buckle

  • SEW yellow “E” pieces to either side of black “D”. PRESS seams towards black.
  • SEW yellow “F” pieces to top and bottom of “E-D-E” PRESS seams towards black.

Step 2: Assemble the belt sides.

  • SEW red “B” pieces to top and bottom of black “C” piece. Do two sets for each side of the buckle.
  • PRESS seams towards black.

Block 3: SEW red “G” pieces to top and bottom of white “H” piece. PRESS seams open.

SEW the three block strips together as shown. ADD batting, backing and quilt as desired. BIND and have a very Merry Christmas!

    Would love a pdf.

    1. I don’t have a pdf for this design but you can “print” the post and save it instead of printing.
