Flex-frame pouches, or snap bags, are fun and easy!
My sister gave me a few leather flex-frame bags with my initial embossed in them recently and I became, shall we say, obsessed. They are different than the zipper bags we see everywhere and proved to be really handy when traveling.
These snap bags store flat and are great for holding and organizing all kinds of things like:
– change
– gift card pouch
– stocking stuffers
– jewelry
– ear buds and cords
– craft supplies
– and more
Flex-frame pouches are a great fabric scrap project that I think would be a unique item to sew and sell in person at craft fairs and live events or online.
Personalize them, make them in any size, make padded pouches for glasses and more.
I have seen these made by cutting metal tape measures but don’t trust myself not to cut myself so I felt safer using premade frames with hinges that I got on Amazon. They come in a variety of sizes that you can use based on your needs.

Watch the Live Event replay on YouTube
On February 1, 2026 I did a live event on YouTube and showed how easy these are to make. I answered questions, shared tips and tricks and we muddled through some tech issues as it seems is always the case when doing live events. Click here to watch the hour long replay on YouTube.
What would you use these pouches for?
Leave me a comment here or on the YouTube video and let me know what size appeals to you and what you would use them for. Will you make them for yourself, for gifts or to sew and sell?
