This project is traditionally pieced and perfect for adding a touch of holiday spirit to your home decor or as a thoughtful handmade gift.

How fabric color affects the look of your quilt block
Now that you know how to make the Christmas quilt block, look at how changing the color changes everything! Each ornament evokes different reactions depending on cultural meanings of colors, your personal preferences and history with both the colors and the holiday of Christmas and more.
For example, if you grew up going to your grandmother’s house around the holidays and she liked to decorate with pinks, greens and blues, the block on the right will conjure up memories of your childhood and make you smile. If you’ve had no experience with anyone decorating for Christmas with those colors and are a traditional “red + green = Christmas” person, then you will likely make a face and wonder why I put that example in there at all!
And these are only using solid colors. Imagine the variety you could make if you put a print in the center square or used textured and print fabrics. Experiment and have fun!
